Twenty five years - that's how long it's been since Princess Diana's tragic and untimely death.
In Paris, mourners marked the sombre anniversary by leaving flowers by the underpass where Diana, her boyfriend, and their driver were killed in a high-speed car crash.
Similar tributes have also been laid outside Kensington Palace.
To this day, she remains a beloved figure, and best remembered for her humanitarian work, as well as the way she changed the course of royal life.
UK correspondent Julia Chapman spoke to Susie Ferguson.
