Tai Rāwhiti has had another battering of rain overnight, just four days on from the last storm.
Metservice is forecasting up to 140 millimetres of rain to fall in the region by six o'clock tonight, and expects another band to arrive over the weekend.
Northland also had a wet night with up to 70 millimetres forecast, and there's warning in place for Coromandel, too.
Metservice meteorologist John Law spoke to Corin Dann.
