The primary industry has outperformed expectations as annual exports reach a new record high of more than 56-billion-dollars. The December forecast expected 55-billion in exports, but led by a growth in dairy, seafood and processed food exports, the result is 1-point-2-billion-dollars higher than thought. The government thinks primary industry exports could rise to 62-billion-dollars by 2027, and are praising new Free Trade Agreements as opening the door for more sales.
