Health officials urged the government to retain key aspects of the smokefree law it plans to repeal, but Associate Health Minister Casey Costello rejected them.
In documents obtained by RNZ, the Health Ministry wanted Casey Costello to consider multiple compromise options, including introducing a purchase age of 25.
