Plans for a new music complex in the capital have taken a step forward.
Victoria University of Wellington, the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra and Wellington City Council have been working on plans to build a National Music Centre in Civic Square.
Part of the project was on hold while a suitable spot was found for the university's music school classes and admin.
It's now agreed to relocate the school to the central library building after earthquake strengthening work is finished in 2026.
Former Wellington mayor and key fund-raiser, Dame Kerry Prendergast, spoke to Corin Dann.
