Cricket and squash have been added to the Olympic Games in Los Angeles in 2028, boosting New Zealand's chances of winning medals.
Both sports are strong in the Commonwealth, and they are already played at the Commonwealth Games.
The International Olympic Committee voted to include the two sports, as well as lacrosse, flag football, and baseball and softball, in a meeting on Monday night.
New Zealand Olympic Committee president Liz Dawson spoke to Ingrid Hipkiss.
