A snow warning for Remutaka Hill Road could cause mass disruption for Wellington commuters.
Metlink had replaced trains with buses this week for planned maintenance - but if Remutaka Hill Road is forced to close for snow, buses will be stuck on either side.
A snowfall warning will be in place on the road until this afternoon.
Metlink's general manager Samantha Gain spoke to Corin Dann.
