Foreign students not meeting English language standards and being marked too favourably could result in the abolition of an entire class of qualification. More than half the people who enrol in level 7 diplomas are international students and the authority says it has discovered cases where their English is not up to scratch as well as poor assessments. But tertiary institutions say that is no longer a problem and the qualifications should stay. RNZ's education correspondent John Gerritsen reports.
