A report from Te Ara Ahunga Ora, The Retirement Commission, says many New Zealanders are "sleep walking" into retirement and won't make the most of their Kiwisaver funds.
The report found more guidance is needed on how to manage "nest eggs" and - among its recommendations - says KiwiSaver providers should give clear advice to members well before retirement, so they understand their options when the time comes to draw down on savings.
Retirement Commissioner Jane Wrightson spoke to Corin Dann.
