New Zealand First Leader Winston Peters has signalled he won't compromise on the roll-out of his election commitments, despite warning the government is short billions of dollars.
Already one coalition partner has had to scale back the roll-out of a pricey policy due to budget constraints, but Peters has suggested he won't be doing the same.
He delivered his state of the nation address to hundreds of supporters on Sunday.
RNZ political reporter Katie Scotcher was there.
