New Zealand is waking to its first day without major Covid-19 restrictions since March 2020.
Masks, vaccine requirements for incoming travellers, and isolation for household contacts have been axed, while government vaccine mandates for will end in two weeks' time.
The Prime Minister has described the decision to drop the Traffic Light System as taking back control.
While opposition parties are celebrating the move, the Green Party says the government has simply given up.
