Neighbours of the Christchurch driver killed during a police pursuit describe him as a keen gardener, and a caring man, who will be dearly missed. 64-year-old Kenneth McCaul died when the fleeing driver in a Toyota crashed into his Hyundai while he was travelling to his work at Christchurch Hospital, about four in the morning. The five occupants in the Toyota have critical to moderate injuries.
