The National Party is planning to give landlords a tax break by restoring interest deductibility for rental properties.
Labour scrapped interest deductibility for all rental properties except new builds in 2021, in an effort to boost housing supply.
National says that initiative has caused rents to rise and is confident these changes will put downward pressure on rents.
