LGNZ on nationwide rates rises

Local councils say they're facing increasing costs for basic infrastructure like roads, water and transport, and urgently need new ways to fund it.
According to a report commissioned by Local Government New Zealand, homeowners are facing average rates rises of 15 percent, or about eight dollars more a week.
