Last week Christchurch City Council voted against introducing the government's mandatory housing intensification law - now some want Hutt City Council to do the same. The Voluntary Heritage Group says the council's proposed plan will put the new rules into effect by creating six heritage areas, but homeowners are worried the new rules will reduce their house values. The group's convenor Philip Barry spoke to Susie Fergusson.
