The High Court has ruled in favour of a group of independent pharmacies which challenged the legality of Countdown's in-store pharmacies. Countdown operates five pharmacies nationwide, after the Ministry of Health granted permission. Independent pharmacists argued the pharmacies are illegal as they aren't majority owned by pharmacists, nor "effectively controlled" by them as required by law - and the court agreed. Clive Cannons, a spokesperson for the pharmacists, spoke with Corin Dann.
