A Palmerston North City Council investigation indicates there could be about 100 buildings with multiple seismic design issues, some serious. The council has been looking into work done by the local civil engineering firm Kevin O'Connor and Associates. A building law expert in Wellington, involved in structural litigation claims against engineers and local authorities, says it's frustrating the Palmerston North city council resisted making information public. Doran Wyatt tells Gyles Beckford the council's been sitting on this information in at least draft form since March 2018.
