The UN's secretary general Antonio Guterres says he is "shocked by misinterpretations" of his comments about Israel's bombardment and blockade of the Gaza strip.
Israel's ambassador to the UN, Gilad Erdan, called on Guterres to resign, after Guterres called for an immediate ceasefire in the war against Hamas.
Former New Zealand prime minister and former head of the UN's development programme, and now a member of The Elders, a group of renowned global leaders, Helen Clark, spoke to Corin Dann.
