Flood-ravaged West Aucklanders are rejoicing after the government announced it will offer buyout options to people whose land is too risky to rebuild on.
Of the roughly seven-hundred homes that won't be rebuilt, around four-hundred are in Auckland.
Lyall Carter, the chair of advocacy group West Auckland is Flooding, says there's still no detail on what homeowners will be offered.
He spoke to Ingrid Hipkiss.
