The EU has launched formal infringement proceedings against social media platform X, under its wide reaching Digital Services Act.
The law, which passed late last year, requires major companies to protect users against extreme content.
The European Commission opened an investigation to ensure X's compliance with the law in October, after alleged disinformation and hate speech spread on the platform about Hamas' attack on Israel.
