Communities on the East Coast are sick of being offered band-aid fixes and praised for their resilience. They were hit hard by Cyclone Gabrielle, which devastated their infrastructure and cut off communication. With climate change, these storms are expected to become more frequent and violent. RNZ cyclone recovery reporter Kate Green has been looking at their options to prepare.
