The National Party and Te Pāti Māori are calling for an independent investigation into Rotorua's emergency housing.
An investigation by TVNZ's Sunday programme exposed serious concerns about the living conditions of people in emergency housing, with many living in fear of physical or emotional abuse from people operating the motels.
National Party MP Chris Bishop says the Prime Minister is in denial about the housing situation.
He spoke to Susie Ferguson.
