While it didn't break records, one of late Christchurch artist Bill Hammond's most celebrated pieces went for a very rare price in the New Zealand art market.
Melting Moments I, featuring the artist's signature bird-humans, was sold for over $1.7 million.
It's the first piece of Bill Hammond's which has sold for over a million dollars.
