A New Zealand company is developing an AI-assisted tool which will help pick the best people to go into space.
Dr Brian Russell, of Ambient Cognition, will lead the project which includes a new way to monitor the health and performance of astronauts.
The project comes as part of a partnership between the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment, and US space company Axiom Space, which is building a successor to the International Space Station.
Russell spoke to Ingrid Hipkiss.
