Nelson has elected its first new MP in a quarter of a century... and also the first female consituency MP. In one of numerous election upsets on Saturday night, National Party stalwart Nick Smith lost the seat to Labour's Rachel Boyack by more than 3-thousand-5-hundred votes. It's one of 15 seats previously held by National MPs that were flipped by the red wave which swept the country, with Labour also prevailing in Ilam, East Coast, Upper Harbour and Northcote to name a few. Joining us now is the new Member of Parliament for Nelson, Rachel Boyack.
