Happy Thanksgiving to those who celebrate it. In these times, we're particularly thankful for the solace of music and amazing talent we get to share.

This week we’re delighted to bring you Strategik’s very own J’Aime Ma Vie on her first ever RIPEcast. J’amie Ma Vie, also known as Jamie James, has a deep appreciation for all electronic music, but drum & bass will always have her heart. This special Unison 5 set is sure to take you on a magical adventure, easing in with a softer side then building up to bring it on home.

"This mix was born for Unison 5. I have been helping coordinate Unison over the last several months, along the way raising money for several important Bay Area causes. Representing Strategik, I've developed a deep bond with my fellow Unison coordinators, including members of Space Cowboys, Angels of Bass, FnF, Ambient Mafia, Venus Grove Collective, 3 Degrees, and Decadent Oasis. The opportunity to live-stream with such talented DJs is an honor."

About J'amie Ma Vie:
After finding her way to her first underground in 1995, Jamie James quickly realized she was not only a raver but a dancer down to her core. From that point on she has danced her way through life, knowing the dance floor will always be a sacred and therapeutic space to hold her. Feeling extremely grateful to have found the rave scene at such a young age, Jamie decided to help produce parties in Seattle, Honolulu, San Francisco and Austin. In 2007 she joined forces with her beloved Strategik crew, known for their out-of-this world, marathon renegades and signature breaks vibe. True to her heart, Jamie worked hard to keep a variety of other genres flowing throughout many of Strategik's lineups, especially drum & bass. In 2016, twenty years after her first party, Jamie finally decided to jump in and learn to mix. That’s when DJ J’amie Ma Vie was born. Becoming a DJ has been one of the most humbling experiences Jamie has ever had. Experiencing first hand the amount of time, energy, and love that goes into creating a musical journey continues to blow her mind. As a dancer Jamie has always held a deep appreciation for DJs, but taking a chance and learning what it’s like to be on the other side of the decks has expanded her understanding and respect for DJ culture exponentially. While Jamie enjoys playing multiple genres, drum & bass stole her heart in the late 90’s and will always be her favorite to throw down. When she’s not behind the decks you can find Jamie handling operations for festivals and events all over the world, including Envision, Sunset Sound System, LIB, Dirtybird, BoC, Unison & Sanctuary.
