Today, we "read the handwriting on the wall." "A little bird told me" that many of our common idioms come from the Bible. From "no rest for the wicked" to "my 2 cents' worth." One of the most ominous of these phrases comes from the passage we'll read today, Daniel, Chapter 5. Nebuchadnezzar is long gone. We have a different arrogant king, and he wants to throw an enormous party - one for the history books. He thinks he'll "eat, drink and be merry," but he's about to "bite the dust" and "give up the ghost."
