While maintaining her medical practice in Gary, Indiana, Dr. Rachael Ross commuted back and forth to
Hollywood, CA serving as a co-host on the Emmy® Award-winning talk show, The Doctors®. For four
consecutive seasons she was the approachable, no-nonsense, Family Physician / sexologist on the show that
viewers worldwide relate to.
Dr. Rachael, as a sexologist and board-certified Family Medicine physician, founded The Dr. Rachael
Institute as an online certification and training facility for the next generation of sexologists. Dr. Rachael is
committed to keeping families together, and The Dr. Rachael Institute is an extension of her dedication
towards that passion. The Dr. Rachael Institute offers Sexuality Coaching Certification, and completion
through the program makes graduates immediately eligible for membership into two major sexological
organizations. While continuing to help families stay together, Dr. Rachael is also helping build families
through this professional career opportunity.
With over fifteen years under her belt as a physician and now as a new mommy, Dr. Rachael prides herself
on her direct and practical approach to communicating with and caring for her patients. Dr. Rachael
practices Functional-Family Medicine and sexology in her hometown of Gary, Indiana and will open an
office in Los Angeles, CA later this year. Dr. Rachael believes that each patient and family is different and
unique, and that their plan for wellness should be tailored to meet those individual needs.
As a sexologist, her engaging manner has garnered comparisons to Dr. Ruth Westheimer. A pioneer of
groundbreaking discussions about relationships, sex, abstinence, HIV/AIDS prevention, and vaccine safety,
Dr. Rachael has spread her message to audiences across the world on television, social media and
numerous publications.
For Dr. Rachael, practicing medicine is something of a family business. She continues to practice part-time
in her hometown of Gary, Indiana, with her her brother, Dr. Nathaniel Ross, while mom Ruthie serves as
office manager. Dr. Rachael’s sister, Dr. Rebekkah Ross, and father Dr. David Ross, Jr, were also
physicians and part of the Ross Family Doctors’ practice until they passed. Their legacy lives on through
the work they both dedicated their lives to.
In addition to her family practice, Dr. Rachael has been a featured speaker at college campuses nationwide,
has been quoted as an expert in Cosmopolitan, Essence, and Self magazines to name a few, and has hosted
her own nightly radio talk-show. She is also the author of Down Right Feel Right – Outercourse: For Her &
For Him, designed to help couples develop greater intimacy and to provide singles with a framework for
safer sex.
