In this episode we discuss the role of parenting practices around food and nutrition habits and how impactful it can be at helping children develop a healthy relationship with food and their bodies. We discuss several topics such as "cleaning your plate", introducing new foods, using food as reward, and diet/body-focused language. We give practical tips for positive food parenting practices such as including children in food decisions, the division of responsibility, and being a positive role model. This episode should be particularly helpful if you are a parent of a young child or are around children often. It also may be helpful if you would like to reflect on your own eating experiences as a child and how it has impacted your relationship with food.
