Voting Rights Scam (EP. 385)

Voting Rights Scam: There is a voting rights scam, but it is not the one in the news. This accusation shouts that our democracy is threatened because of intentionally restricted access to the polls. Nothing could be further from the truth. 

The voting rights scam that does threaten our democracy is the one that pushes for everyone from illegals to the completely unmotivated to vote in the many millions in favor of the party that encourages them to vote, and promises them other people’s money in return. That’s the voting scam threatening our democracy.



Today, right now, all voters in all states have multiple days and more than one way to vote. Any voter with even the slightest motivation can cast a ballot with little or no inconvenience.

Voting Rights Scam: Major League Baseball punished Georgia for its “restrictive” voting laws by moving the attention-getting and lucrative All Star Game from Atlanta to Denver. Here is a summary of these so-called restrictive Georgia voting laws.

1. Absentee voting starts 78 days before an election, and ends 11 days prior. You have 67 days to vote absentee.

2. Advance voting starts on the 4th Monday prior, and ends the Friday before. By my count, this year that would add up to 19 days of advance voting, which must include 2 Sundays.

3. On Election Day, polls are open 7-7.

4. Dropboxes were codified in the election laws for the first time.



Tell me, can you honestly (the key word here) say that anyone with any level of motivation at all could not manage to vote with these rules? And isn’t it highly insulting to claim that anyone, especially minorities, can’t manage this?



At Revolution 2.0™, we often talk about common goals. What could be a reasonable candidate to be the goal, ideally the common goal, when it comes to voting rules and regulations? How about: Every eligible voter should have reasonable access to the polls, such that any voter who wishes to do so has multiple ways over many days to vote. If that is the goal, we have more than met it.



For many, the goal seems to be: Every resident, regardless of motivation, must have their ballot cast. The process needs to include shotgun ballot mailing, indiscriminate ballot harvesting and drive-by voting. Voter eligibility is assumed by residency. The people and groups pushing this free-for-all voting also support the US becoming more of a welfare state than it already is. Intentionally combining the loosest form of voting rules, if any at all, and a welfare state is self-perpetuating. Overall, the less motivated voters will be less well informed. They are far more likely to follow the siren call of, “It’s free because you are a victim,” and feel beholden to the party that artificially loosened both the voting process and other people’s purse strings. The clear idea behind this voting free for all is to have more and more Democratic voters, regardless of motivation or qualification.

Rights do indeed come with equal or greater responsibilities. What are the responsibilities that come with the right to vote? My position is clear. It takes an average of about 30 minutes a year to:

Keep your voter information current.
Have a valid photo ID (you will need that anyway).
Go vote, or
Vote the mail-in ballot sent to your correct address, to you as a registered voter.

Where else is a photo ID required to live anything like a normal life?

Airports – Try boarding a commercial flight these days without a photo ID.
Buying alcohol or cigarettes
Opening a bank account.
Applying for food stamps or other types of welfare.
Applying for Medicaid, Medicare or Social Security.
Applying for unemployment.
Or a job.
Renting or buying a home.
Rent or buy a car.
Gun Shop – Right!  Try buying a gun or ammunition without a photo ID.
Get married.
Pawn Shop – Laws have tightened up so much on pawn shops to prevent them from purchasing stolen property that pawn shops require a form of ID, preferably a photo.
Adopt a pet.
Rent a hotel room.
Apply for a hunting or fishing license.
Public Schools – Many schools require any non-student to present an ID at the office before being allowed to visit the school for any reason.  
Adoption Agency – It is almost impossible to adopt a child without an ID and a stack of other information.
Buy a cellphone.
Auto Insurance – You are required to have an ID in order to obtain auto insurance.
Traffic Stop – In most states you are required to present your driver’s license, proof of insurance and vehicle registration if you are pulled over by a police officer.
Passport – You have to produce an original birth certificate and photo in order to obtain a U.S. passport.  (Makes you wonder how Barack Obama obtained a valid passport.)
Post Office – I’ve had to show a photo ID to pick up packages at the Post Office.
Pick up a prescription.
Donate blood.

People who do not have proper ID are forced to live in the shadows. Do you want people who live in the shadows to vote? Powerful people and groups are pushing for just that. One of the powerful people who want exactly that is none other than our very own President, Joe Biden. He likens those who do not support his disingenuously titled Freedom To Vote Act to the segregationist George Wallace, the infamous racist Bull Connor, and Jefferson Davis, president of the secessionist, slaveholding Confederacy. 

We all have the personal responsibility to cast a valid, well informed ballot. Speaking of personal responsibility, this principle does not stand alone; the two main and interdependent principles at Revolution 2.0 are:



1. Personal Responsibility; take it, teach it and,

2. Be Your Brother’s Keeper. The answer to the biblical question, “Am I my brother’s keeper?” is a ringing, unequivocal “Yes.” There is no other answer.
