The Black community faces several challenges from birth to death. Racism is built into many of our institutions: police, school, medicine, transportation, careers, housing (redlining). The physical and mental health issues compounding daily amount to a lifelong assault on Black Americans, and their health deteriorates faster and more often than the rest of the population. With so many barriers to the pursuit of happiness and prosperity, banning diversity programs from every state college adds insult to injury, and can only be seen as a cruel political ploy with devastating results.
