Removing Barriers

182 episodes - English - Latest episode: 17 days ago -

Many barriers exist that can prevent us from seeing the cross clearly. We want to attempt to remove those barriers and share the gospel.

But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear (1 Peter 3:15).

For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. (Romans 1:16) Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/removingbarriers/support

We are to protect them from dangerous situations and dangerous people (including themselves!) but today, a mutated threat has emerged with breakneck speed and incredible complexity: social media. It is many things at once: useful and useless, helpful and detrimental, empowering and enslaving. Such...

Episode 156 Series: How Were Your Barriers Removed - 38 Today we continue the How Were Your Barriers Removed series with an interview with Bill. Bill grew up in a Christian home and received Christ as his personal Lord and Savior early on in life, but that doesn't mean that there were no barriers to salvation. Every instance of biblical salvation is a genuine miracle where the holy, triune Creator God reaches down to an unworthy and wretched sinner to bestow forgiveness and restoration whe...

In today's podcast, we discuss the latest in LGBTQIA2+ hypocrisy, bullying, and virtue signaling: the attack on parents seeking to protect their children from trans ideology. Meanwhile, the elite class are spending exorbitant amounts of money on debauchery and all manner of illegal activity (not new, but to what degree is increasingly shocking) while the Methodist church is abandoning the terms "h...

RBP 152: Deja Taylor v. Hunter Biden: A Case of Class

January 15, 2024 01:57 - 1 hour - 52.9 MB

Episode 152 This is an episode in which we evaluate the issue of class-based discrimination in the United States. Deja Taylor is a no-name everyday Jane while Hunter Biden is the son of the sitting president of the United States. Both committed the same crimes, and yet only one has had the hammer of justice come down upon them. Why is that? Is America's problem really racism? Or are we blinded by racism to the more pressing and serious problem of classism? Is it both? How should Christians ...

November 18, 2023 16:53 - 1 hour - 70.6 MB

Thousands of Israeli civilians were brutally killed, tortured, or taken hostage. The entire globe has very strong opinions about it one way or another, but one of the most disturbing developments is the blatant support for Hamas coming from many on the left here in the United States. RBP 147: Make America Great Again, Huh?! | Guest: MD

October 28, 2023 15:54 - 1 hour - 52.2 MB

Episode 147 As of fall of 2023, Donald J. Trump is the only serious republican candidate for the presidency of the United States in the elections of 2024, though hobbled and battered by an onslaught of lawfare that the majority of the country deems is political. His MAGA slogan, borrowed from Reagan's campaign in the '80s, has deeply resonated with much of the country in the face of an open southern border, a bad economy, wars in Ukraine and Israel, and an impaired incumbent president with ...

Episode 145 In this episode of the Removing Barriers podcast, we discuss a TikTok video which claims that if Christians were consistent, they would realize that Eve was transgender because she was made from Adam's rib and had male DNA. We will open the scriptures and see what the Bible has to say about this and how even in this dark and terrible confusion, the cross and gospel of Christ shines all the more brightly with the answers we need to know who God is, what He has done, and who we ar...

RBP 144: This World Has Gone Bonkers: BLM, The Bible and Hygiene

October 07, 2023 09:00 - 43 minutes - 34.5 MB

Episode 144 Bonkers - 4 Did you know that according to our bonkers world, the Bible is no different from Mein Kampf and is filled with bad and hateful speech like the word "sin?" Or that over three years after the domestic terrorism Black Lives Matter unleashed on the country, some people are only NOW realizing how much of a scam the movement is? What about a 22 year old woman who hated the idea of showering so much that she stabbed her grandfather in the face when he encouraged her to go ...

RBP 143: Ta'Kiya Young: A Soul for Which Christ Died

September 30, 2023 09:00 - 1 hour - 49.7 MB

Episode 143 It seems that whenever there is an interaction between a white police officer and a black person, the question of race and/or police brutality inevitably comes up. In some instances, it is the first thing that comes up. Should this be the case in our society? On August 24, 2023, a 21-year old woman named Ta'Kiya Young was shot and killed by police after having been accused of shoplifting liquor from a local grocery store. What makes this story noteworthy by today's standards is ...

Episode 142 Vivek Ramaswamy is a riveting presidential candidate for the 2024 elections with great ideas to stymie America's precipitous decline (provided he gets past Donald Trump). A sticking point for some conservative Christians is this: he is a practicing Hindu. What is Hinduism, and what will it mean for the country if a practicing Hindu wins the White House? Will America be irredeemable? Will it all come crashing down? Or will we adjust and find new ways to embrace pluralism? Does it...

RBP 141: God and LGBTQIA+

September 16, 2023 09:00 - 1 hour - 52.9 MB

Episode 141 Abundant on the internet are video clips of LGBTQIA persons in clerical positions saying and doing wildly outlandish and blasphemous things. In this episode of the Removing Barriers podcast, we examine one such man who claims that God is all things LGBTQIA. The implication, of course, is that the ideology is above reproach, and all of what we have understood God to be for centuries is now wrong, hateful, and unacceptable. Is that true? What does the Bible say about the nature of...

August 26, 2023 09:00 - 1 hour - 81.3 MB

Episode 139 The United States Supreme Court has ended Affirmative Acton as we know it. Predictably, the country is split in their reactions to this devising. Some applaud it and see an incremental return to meritocracy while others decry the perceived devolution toward empowering racists and oppressing colored people. In this episode of the Removing Barriers podcast, we sit down with brothers Sam and Michael to discuss what actually happened and what the Supreme Court's decision means for t...

July 22, 2023 09:00 - 50 minutes - 38.9 MB

Episode 136 Bonkers - 1 Perhaps more so now than any point in our lives, we come across something that evokes deep consternation or shock, and it brings us to a sobering resignation that this world has gone bonkers. We are starting a new series to document those very things that we've encountered at RBP. It may be something old, or perhaps it's fresh off the presses... but one thing is for sure: it's absolutely bonkers! Far be it from us to bring these up to encourage pessimism, however. R...

July 15, 2023 15:36 - 1 hour - 76.7 MB

Episode 135 **This episode will discuss elements of the LGTBQ agenda in varying degrees of detail. It has served as a lightning rod for parents of all political and religious stripes to stiffen resolve and take action against this particular agenda. Supporters doubled down, ...

RBP 134: The Redefinition of Woman in Today’s Culture | Guest: MD

July 08, 2023 09:00 - 1 hour - 73 MB

Episode 134 **This episode will discuss elements of the LGTBQ agenda in varying degrees of detail. Parental discretion is advised.** The United States has been stumped by a very simple question posed by Daily Wire's Matt Walsh: What is a Woman? However, there are other more important questions that need to be answered, like why in the world are we confused about this? How did we get to this point as a nation? What does the Bible say a woman is? In this episode of the Removing Barriers podc...

RBP 133: Who is the Church? | Guest: Pastor Leber

July 01, 2023 09:00 - 1 hour - 54.9 MB

Episode 133 In modern English parlance, the word "church" is either a hierarchical organization or an activity people do on the weekend. Rarely is it defined as the scriptures define it: a people bought by the shed blood of Christ, called out of the world to reconcile the world to God for the glory of God. On this episode of the Removing Barriers podcast, we sit down with pastor John Leber to scratch the surface of this word, "church;" what or who it is, what is it supposed to do, and why d...

RBP 132: Tyre Nichols: A Soul for Which Christ Died | Guest: Officer CigarBro

June 17, 2023 09:00 - 55 minutes - 51.3 MB

Episode 132 The death of Tyre Nichols at the hands of 5 police officers was a shocking instance of police brutality that the country united in denouncing outright. The outrage seemed somewhat muted compared to the response to George Floyd's killing, but many question whether racial tensions may have had a role to play, since all involved were black. Did these officers exhibit "internalized racism" and were thus "the black face of white supremacy" as the left contends? Or was this an instanc...

Charity is in full time Christian ministry, but that was not always the case. In fact, for an extended amount of time, she thought she was saved because a pastor prayed a prayer with her and declared her so. But she didn't understand the gospel and she was seeking her mother's approval. It wasn't until she met a special young man who i...

Episode 130 In early May of 2023, a homeless, mentally ill man with a tragic and violent past was killed via chokehold on a New York subway after his menacing behavior on the subway prompted bystanders to restrain him. Daniel Penny, the former Marine who restrained Neely via chokehold, provided lifesaving measures after he lost consciousness and was only arrested after Neely's death ignited race-related protests in the city (Penny is white and Neely was black). Was this a race-related confr...

May 27, 2023 09:00 - 1 hour - 57.8 MB

Episode 129 Richard Dawkins is one of the most famous atheists in the world. He recently sat with Piers Morgan to discuss big questions like the origin of life, God, and what happens after death. May 20, 2023 09:00 - 46 minutes - 38.8 MB

Episode 128 Series: On the Mission Field - 13 In many countries around the world, the name of Jesus Christ is still unknown and the people are as yet unreached. In this episode of the Removing Barriers podcast, we have the honor of interviewing Missionary John, whom God has called to reach the people of Nepal. We wil...

RBP 126: The Answer to Racism | Guest: Sam

May 06, 2023 09:00 - 1 hour - 80 MB

Episode 126 All of us can remember times in our lives when we pretty much solved some of the world's problems right from our living rooms. "If I were in a position, I would do this or that!" Indeed, there are some problems that are only as complex as we allow our flesh to make them, but others are quite complex even without the added curse of sin and all its atrocious effects. Could racism be one of those problems? What is the answer to racism? In any country where the scourge has been outl...

RBP B3: My Police Ride-Along Experience

April 01, 2023 09:00 - 42 minutes - 39.3 MB

Bonus Episode B3 In this bonus episode of the Removing Barriers podcast, I (MCG) will be recounting my police ride-along experience with Officer CigarBro. No, we did not chase bad guys to the end of his jurisdiction, nor did we have a shootout with bullets flying over our heads. Instead, what I saw was just good ol' fashioned policing, where a police officer was known by his first name and children who weren't afraid to greet him with smiles and hugs. I saw good ol' fashioned policing that ...

Parental discretion is advised.** When John and Charles Wesley set out to follow Christ, it is safe to assume they didn't realize God would take their devotion and multiply the fruit to the degree He did.
