In 1980, after five seasons, Saturday Night Live producer Lorne Michaels and all of the remaining "Not Ready For Prime Time Players" leave the show. NBC President Ben Silverman turns to SNL associate producer Jean Doumanian to maintain continuity.

But things don't go so smoothly. The writing staff quits, taking the continuity with it, and Jean has to hire an entirely new crew of performers and writers. Can she pull it off? There's just one little problem - she doesn't get comedy.

How bad can it truly be?
