John 10:22-30

English Standard Version

When I read this Bible Verse, it reminds me of:

The first time we let our chickens roam around in our Yard.

We had around 25 Chickens

We have 20 at the moment

When we let them out for the first time they were sooooooooo excited to see a new everything.

New Grass because they had eaten all of theirs  in their pen.

New woods to explore, new bugs to eat and they were closer to the house so they could beg me for treats a lot easier just by climbing up on our back deck or our front porch.

Well one day I had asked the kids to call out to them to let them know we had some bread and veggies for them. They went out on the back porch and shouted for them saying, “Here Chicky Chicky!” but they wouldn't come. The kids got worried and came to tell me that they were calling for them but the chickens weren't coming.

I went out to the back deck and started to call them and they came running out of the weeds in one mad race to see who could get to the treats first.

Ya see? They know that I am the one that usually takes care of them. Talks to them, and spoils them with goodies. They knew my voice so they came out of the weeds to the sound of it.

This reminds me of how we know our fathers voice.

Sometimes we get a little too carried away with our life.

Sometimes we get distracted by new and fun things that we get further and further away from home but when he calls to us we know his voice and we draw near.

Our heavenly father will never leave us or forsake us.

We must stay near him so we can hear him.
