Welcome to the 6th episode of Reel Travels!
Today we are talking about the birthplace John Wayne in Winterset, Iowa. Otherwise known as "The Duke" he was born Marion Robert Morrison on May 26, 1907. He didn't have plans to become an actor, but he stumbled into it and worked his way to an Academy Award for his role in True Grit (1969). I talk to Brian Downes of the John Wayne Birthplace in Winterset about John's career in film and what fans can see at the museum. Great interview!
My celebrity minute is with the Kickboxer's director Dimitri Logothetis.
Enjoy the show!
