Romans: The Power & Glory of the Gospel (B-Side)Isaiah 45:14-25// In Romans, Paul leans heavily on the prophet Isaiah and shows how Jesus Christ is the fulfillment of several different different "characters" in Isaiah. Jesus is the suffering servant; he is also the conquering king. Jesus is the mighty savior; he is also the righteous judge. How can Jesus be all of these things, especially when they seem opposed to each other? While we believe that God can be known, we also believe that he cannot be fully or completely known - but that everything we need to know about him for our salvation is found in the person and work of Jesus Christ. We cannot know everything that can be known about God, but we can know today that Christ is our treasure, and our hope for the future is that Christ shall come to judge the living and the dead and save us once and for all!
