But what did Jesus think about why he came? What was his understanding of what he came to do? Jesus, the self-aware Jewish Messiah, knew that he came to fulfill all the prophecies of the Old Testament, and that he would die and rise again to save sinners - people like you and me - from our sin, guilt, and shame by taking it on himself!
