This episode of Red Inker we look at the difficulties faced by Indian women cricketers. There is a book called The Fire Burns Blue all about this topic and so we got on author Karunya Keshav. We discuss players choosing marriage over a career, players choosing a career over marriage, and the few who have tried both. This is a story about women cricketers in India, but also the things they have to overcome. Societal pressures, miscarriages, working mother schedules, and so many other issues associated with being a woman athlete in India.
