Gun violence exacts an enormous toll on Americans, claiming tens of thousands of lives each year. Firearms are involved in 100 deaths a day, and 100,000 Americans are shot and injured each year, often with life-altering consequences. To discuss the trauma of suffering and living with a gunshot wound and the activism that can spring from such an injury, host JJ is joined once again by Christian Heyne, Vice President of Policy at Brady, and Allison Shaw — activist, producer, and owner and CEO of Manic Monkee, a Los Angeles brand development and consulting firm — who, like Christian, is a survivor of gun violence.
