COVID-19 has, and is, disrupting the lives of millions of people in America. Among those are survivors of domestic and sexual violence, who are especially vulnerable in this time. Add in the rise of gun sales, and there is a dangerous storm brewing. More than half of all women murdered in the United States are killed by an intimate partner with a gun, and the chance of being murdered by an abusive partner increases five-fold when there is a gun in the home. Host JJ is joined by Ruth Glenn, President, and Rachel Graber, Director of Public Policy, of the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence (NCADV) talk about the intersections, and risks, of domestic violence, firearms, and COVID-19...and what our listeners can do.
