Every day in the US, about 17 veterans die by suicide, and 12 of those 17 veterans (68%) die from a self-inflicted firearm injury. These veterans leave behind a large community of family, friends, and colleagues who are left with big, painful questions.

To discuss how to better understand this loss, how to help the bereaved with their grief, and to prevent other suicides, hosts  Kelly and JJ are joined by Dr. Carla Stumpf Patton  (Ed.D., LMHC, NCC, FT, CCTP).  Dr. Carla Stumpf Patton is the  Director of Suicide Postvention Programs of TAPS, the Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors, an organization which provides  comfort, care and resources to all those grieving the death of a military loved one.
