In this episode, our guest speaker, Kirsi Cobb , and our very own Sarah M-H,
talk to Vicky about being a disabled Christian woman.

Kirsi Cobb is a lecturer in biblical studies at Cliff College and a co-investigator in the AHRC funded project Abusing God: Reading Bible in the #MeToo Age. The Abusing God Network provides a platform to connect academics, church, and charity practitioners, in order to develop new research into the intersection between Scripture and the lived experience of Christian survivors. Kirsi’s current research focuses on women in the Hebrew Bible with a special interest in biblical interpretation including feminist, deconstructive and trauma studies. Her recent projects include a reading of Lot’s daughters in Genesis 19 in light of trauma theory and revenge, as well as a study on gender and violence in Hosea 2.

The Abusing God Network will have a second colloquium on the topic of hypermasculinity both in person and on Zoom on the 22nd of April. https://sites.manchester.ac.uk/abusinggodnetwork/2023/01/19/abusing-god-reading-the-bible-in-the-metoo-age-second-colloquium-on-hypermasculinity/

The Recovering God Podcast has been in existence since the summer of 2019. The team has changed over those years but we're delighted to still be offering relevant discussions covering the broad topics of feminism and the Christian faith!
