Have you ever wondered why, as Christians and members of the Church, we don’t often associate ourselves with the cross? Do you, personally, have an aversion to the cross, meaning you don’t wear jewelry with a cross or you feel uncomfortable if it’s used as decoration?

John Hilton III, professor of religion at BYU and recent author of Considering the Cross: How Calvary Connects Us with Christ, is here today with Ganel-Lyn and Scott to help answer these very questions.

After diving into the history of the cross after a friend asked him why we (in the Church) focus on Gethsemane so much in reference to the Atonement, John discovered that there is a misunderstanding in our culture of the symbol of the cross.

He delves into this misunderstanding, along with many other questions, in today’s interview and in his new book. Tune in right now if you want to know what he has to say! And check out @thelovingchrist on Instagram if you want to learn more of Christ and the cross.
