In this week’s episode of Reading for Attention, Sarah and Paul dive into The Thursday Murder Club, the record-breaking debut novel by Richard Osman aka Paul’s close personal friend. Meet Elizabeth, Joyce, Ibrahim and Roy, residents of the luxurious Cooper’s Chase retirement village in Kent. The core four get together every Thursday (duh) to solve cold cases using expertise from their former careers. Things get mega exciting when someone is murdered on their doorstep and the gang are keen to stay one step ahead of the police.

Paul reveals how he became besties with Big Dickie O, then reminisces about cocktail parties he used to run in an East London care home where Sarah was a frequent attendee (as a party guest, not a resident).

Sarah then tells an embarrassing story about a recent flat inspection, and Paul has a go at stealing the attention with a shameful tale of his own.
