Studies show one in six kids between the ages of two-and eight-years-old have a mental, behavioral, or developmental disorder. Navigating this world as a parent can be scary, but experiencing this as a young child can be even scarier. 

Author Jamie Edelbrock tackles this difficult topic in heartfelt words and pictures that unpack how it's like to be "tangled up" as complicated thoughts and emotions happen. 

The book shares how you must be brave and seek help from special people called therapists and counselors who help people when they are tangled up. They are professional detanglers who are willing to help and understand how important and unique you are. 

Tangled Up is intended to lessen the fear of the unknown and shines a positive, peaceful light on mental health and therapy. 

✅ ABOUT THE AUTHOR:

Jamie Edelbrock is a homeschool mom, preschool director, family ministry director, author, and advocate for children's mental health. Her award-winning children's book Tangled Up shares with kids and adults alike that it's okay not to be okay. The book started as Jamie's love letter to her daughter, telling her that she isn't alone and, like many others, should bravely seek help to get better.

"Many things get tangled up in life, like our shoelaces or hair. Sometimes our necklaces or the hoses in your backyard. It's really frustrating. This story is about when feelings and emotions get tangled up, hard things happen in life, and you don't feel good inside. This talks about what to do when that happens." 

Jamie, a partner of the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) chapter in Louisiana, aims to eliminate the stigma of seeking help. ​
