West Coast rap stalwart Soul King pays homage to his West Indian roots with a stellar new EP,  "Broken French" , featuring thoughtful dedications to his mother and a late mentor, Meen Green of Project Blowed.

Soul King is also showing his love for those who have been closest to him throughout his life, like his mother, on the title track, “Broken French.” As the emcee explains, the hook is in Kreyol and is actually a nursery song that his mother would sing to cheer him up as a baby. It was a way to honor his mother, which he’s able to do in the context of a straight-up dope rap record produced by DJ Abel.
