‘When you think like that, when quitting the dream … isn’t an option, you find solutions.’
Marte Marie Forsberg works as a food and lifestyle photographer for magazines around the world, and she regularly runs photography, creative business and cookery workshops and retreats across Europe. Marte grew up in the Norwegian countryside where her mother taught her how to cook from scratch with fresh produce from the garden. From that experience, Marte learned to be creative with food and to never stop exploring and venturing into unchartered food territory. Today, she is the published author of The Cottage Kitchen: Cozy Cooking in the English Countryside.
Marte joins me to explain how writing down the words food, travel and design led to her career as a photographer. She shares her decision-making process around what facets of life to post on social media and offers insight on the realities of paying the bills as a creative entrepreneur. I ask her about the journey to become a published author, and she describes how The Cottage Kitchen became a story about ‘finding your way home.’ Listen in as Marte gets real about the logistics and financial realities of creating an event and learn how to avoid creating from a place of insecurity—and trust that you have an important story to share.
