Military Service Is a Family Tradition for Deshmukh Family-Father and Son fought enemies on the same soil three decades apart.


For some families, serving India is in the blood, and it passes from generation to generation.
3rd consecutive generation of this family is continuing to serve in Army.
These multigenerational military families share their stories of duty and honor.


A family in Pune has been serving in the Indian Army for long 68 years. Their 3rd generation has also joined defense forces. 


Every time a child is born in this family, he grows up seeing the uniform. Falling in love with the spirit of soldiers, the child follows footsteps.


Sub Bhagwan Deshmukh( Retd), born on  15 Mar 1931 joined Army in Maratha Regt in 1953. Initially with 2nd Maratha LI then 1st Maratha LI. He fought enemies in 1965 war in J&K and the 1971 war on the Meghalaya-Bangladesh border.
He successfully won his third war with Corona in 2021.


Col Deepak Kumar Deshmukh (Retd), born on  23 Apr 1960 joined Indian Military Academy, Dehra Dun and got commissioned in  Electronics and Mechanical Engineering Corps in June 1985 after completing B.Tech ( Electronics & Communications)


He commanded EME Battalion in Rajouri Sector, J&K where his father fought enemies in 1965.


His daughter, son, and son-in-law are currently serving In the Indian Navy!
