Technicians: We Make the Difference is a new campaign about raising awareness of the roles technicians do. It follows a survey conducted by the Gatsby Charitable Foundation which found only 5% of young people know a lot about jobs a technician can do.
Sarika speaks to Tyler Terry-Wallace, a Simulation Technician at Guys & St Thomas' Hospital. He’s one of the people in these hidden technician roles. In his job he uses a very expensive manikin (a jointed model of the human body, used in medical training) to create real-life scenarios within a mock-up ward for doctors and nurses to train with.
