Environs Kimberley called for Landcorp to halt clearing until a solution could be found, but Lancorp refused to meet with the environmental organisation.
The fate of the bilbies is uncertain, and the validity of all surveys on the region is under question. The rare Cable Beach Ghost Gum was also missed by recent surveys.
